Two unforgettabel days for the TOP Graduates of the Nagel-Group

– Personal Honoring by Marion Nagel and Carsten Taucke

Hamburg. 25.10.2023. With proud chests, the top graduates of the Nagel-Group made their way to Hamburg to celebrate the outstanding results of their final exams together with Marion Nagel and Carsten Taucke. Rightly so, as they have worked hard over the past months to be among the best of the best from the graduating class of 2023.

Marion Nagel in conversation with the top graduates

Marion Nagel, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, and Carsten Taucke, CEO of the Nagel-Group, personally invited each of the five best industrial trainees, best commercial trainees and best dual students to the Hanseatic city to spend these special days together. All 15 junior employees have completed their three-year training with top grades in theory and practice and have shown above-average commitment in their branches.

“You are the stars of these two days, because you are our top graduates and not only the future of the Nagel-Group, you are the key to our continued success. Your passion and commitment are the driving forces that shape and drive the Nagel-Group,” said Marion Nagel, welcoming the top graduates to the branch office, before the group of 30 participants, consisting of the top graduates and a large number of specialists and managers, set off together to the Elbphilharmonie concert hall.

Carsten Taucke in the workshop with the top graduates

“This is my first time at the Elbphilharmonie and I’m impressed! A great start to the two days ahead, which I’m very excited about,” says Willi Böhm, warehouse logistics specialist at the Magdeburg site. With a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and the port at a height of 37 meters, there was an opportunity for intensive discussions about the diverse career opportunities within the Nagel-Group and a lively exchange in a relaxed atmosphere. Carsten Taucke emphasized: “We are proud of you! We are proud that we were able to encourage you to start your career in the Nagel-Group and that you all decided to remain a part of the Nagel-Group after your training!”

Valuable life experiences in the luggage

Isabelle Rottzoll tells the top graduates about her personal experience at the Nagel-Group.

On the plaza of the Elbphilharmonie it became clear more than once how different the career paths in the Nagel-Group can be. Three speakers presented the top graduates with possible career paths at Germany’s largest food logistics company. And these can look very diverse: Isabelle Rottzoll reported on her commercial training as a forwarding agent and her various career steps over time. She has been a part of the Nagel-Group for more than 30 years and was most recently training manager at the Wustermark site. In the meantime, Isabelle Rottzoll is the central training manager for Germany and works every day to make the training of young people even better together with the training managers in the branches. When asked why she has been working for the Nagel-Group for so long, she replied: “The Nagel-Group is more than just an employer for me. I have been given the opportunity to constantly develop and take on new tasks. The career opportunities are diverse and the family-like working atmosphere makes Nagel special.”

Robert Schlönvoigt also presented his career path and he, too, will soon have been working for the Nagel-Group for 30 years. He started his career as a freight forwarding and logistics services clerk and today, as branch manager for the West Region, he is responsible for the Eschweiler, Andernach and Völklingen sites.

Daniel Beuße presents his career path at the Nagel-Group in Hamburg.

After graduating from high school, Daniel Beuße started his career at the handling warehouse of the Bremen branch and then decided to train as a forwarding and logistics services clerk at the Nagel-Group. Today, he is the IT team leader and takes care of all IT issues at the site. “My training was the cornerstone for my professional and personal development. My supervisor recognized and encouraged my potential and gave me the chance to develop my talents, regardless of my starting point.”

Inspiring workshops and strategies for the future

Back at the Dependance, ideas and experiences could be exchanged in small workshops. The graduates shared their very personal experiences with Marion Nagel. This led to stimulating discussions about the variety of opportunities the Nagel-Group has to offer, their identification with the company and the future of the graduates within the Nagel-Group. As Marion Nagel aptly noted, “It’s important to us to foster dialogue and learn from the fresh ideas and visions of our young talents.”

The creative workshop on the Nagel-Group’s strategy was also about the future and new goals. Carsten Taucke presented to the top graduates the strategic and economic goals that the Nagel-Group has set for itself. The graduates were allowed to get creative and visualize their ideas for the future of the Nagel-Group in small works of art and then present them.  An impulse lecture on the Nagel-Group’s first corporate venture – LEAFR, not only encouraged creative excellence, but also showed the diverse opportunities available to top graduates after their training. “At the beginning I was incredibly nervous to meet so many executives, but during the workshops my nervousness turned into pure enthusiasm. Especially the creative strategy part with Carsten Taucke showed me how important open communication is, because that’s also what’s hidden behind our EMPOWER vision,” says Mohammad Hossein Zeinodini, a professional driver at the Langenfeld site.

Fish and burgers to round off the day

In the midst of old brick halls, creatively used industrial facilities and urban gardens, the great results of the top graduates were toasted once again. “During the joint meal and through the conversations with Ms. Nagel, I noticed that despite the size of the company, the Nagel-Group retains its roots as a family business and that togetherness is writ large,” said, for example, Sebastian Peter Ferger, who successfully completed his training as a professional driver last year and continues to be employed at the Schweitenkirchen site.

At the event’s conclusion in Hamburg, the graduates’ successes took center stage. “Thank you for the great time together in Hamburg. We are all very proud of you and I look forward to seeing you again soon,” said Marion Nagel, presenting the certificates and small gifts to the top graduates.

Kim Miyanji diligently assists with the event at the Dependance.

The event was organized by the HR department. “With more than 350 trainees at 45 training locations in Germany alone, the Nagel-Group is one of the major training companies in logistics. This underlines the great result of our top graduates, I am looking forward to encouraging the next cohort of young people to achieve their personal best”, says Kim Miyanji, Head of Recruiting & Employer Branding.
