Sustainability: Further Nagel-Group sites receive ZNU-certification

Versmold/Hamburg. July 14, 2023. Ten Nagel-Group sites receive the certificate for “Sustainable Management” according to the standard of the Center for Sustainable Management (ZNU). The three branches Achim-Uphusen, Reichenbach and Schweitenkirchen have certified themselves for the first time and successfully passed the audit by TÜV Rheinland. The Versmold and Buxheim sites were audited as existing sites – Borgholzhausen, Bad Grönenbach, Buxheim, Eschweiler, Langenfeld and Bochum are already ZNU certified.

“We are modernizing our network of sites and investing heavily in targeted expansion here. We are developing new branches and expanding site capacities where it makes sense,” says Dr. Holger Werthschulte, Chief Financial Officer of the Nagel-Group. “We are investing in state-of-the-art refrigeration technology and energy-efficient buildings. Our new buildings are all equipped with photovoltaic systems, and we use the electricity produced there directly at the site.” In this way, the Nagel-Group’s entire network of sites is to be set up in a more sustainable manner. “We have set ourselves concrete sustainability goals, which we are implementing step by step. The ZNU certification at the ten sites is proof of our efforts to make the supply chains greener,” says Dr. Holger Werthschulte.

In 2017, the Nagel-Group was the first logistics company to be awarded the ZNU standard. The Center for Sustainable Corporate Management is an application-oriented research institute of the University of Witten/Herdecke. In the audit, specified requirements in the areas of environment, economy and social affairs are tested and evaluated.
