Training programme at Nagel Liller achieves excellent results

In order to support employees in their development, they need to be promoted individually. If they are also given the opportunity to look beyond their own daily work, they develop additional interdisciplinary growth potential. A training programme at Nagel Liller shows that this philosophy is the right one.

Thanks to the great cooperation between various departments and people, it was possible to create a training programme tailored to the specific needs of our Nagel-Liller employees.

Under the management of Operations Manager Jens Olesen and Transport Manager Jesper Petersen, a total of 21 employees from different departments took part in the three-month training programme. With the help of theoretical training, practical tasks and projects, they gained an insight into many areas of daily work at Nagel-Liller – from the office to cross-docking of goods. The goals: better understanding of the challenges of other departments, improvement of teamwork, solution-oriented action and ultimately, of course, the improvement of internal processes. Finally, the learning success was recorded with the help of an exam.

“Through our training programme, we have been able to identify a huge unexploited potential in the way we work and communicate,” says Jens Olesen. “At the same time, we have created a common understanding of some simple LEAN tools that can help our employees to analyse and optimise their work processes so that we can continue to provide top service to our customers,” adds Jesper Petersen.

Another 25 employees have already started their training and are expected to take their exams in February.

“The training measures were a complete success,” says Ole Brødsgaard, Co-Managing Director Nagel Nordics. Brødsgaard was particularly pleased with the successful promotion of hidden potential among the employees. “Some employees do not have the formal education, but show great commitment and talent. One employee, for example, did not graduate from school due to a dyslexia – but completed this further training with top marks. That makes me very happy and shows: if you promote people individually, you can achieve great results,” concludes Brødsgaard.
