Now available: Book & Claim makes climate protection measurable

The demands for sustainable supply chains are increasing, especially in food logistics, where cold chains, tight time slots and complex networks shape the carbon footprint. At the same time, there is growing pressure to report emissions transparently and reliably and to create solutions that reduce the carbon footprint within one’s own supply chain. This is exactly where Nagel-Group comes in with its Book & Claim module, creating a solution that makes emissions from climate-friendly transport visible, traceable and actively usable for customers.

The Book & Claim system decouples emission reductions from alternative drive systems such as HVO and e-mobility from physical transport. The savings achieved can be booked as certified CO₂ credits – regardless of geographical or time restrictions. This allows Nagel-Group customers to flexibly claim emission savings for themselves. More details and background information can be found in the Book & Claim white paper (July 2025).

Now available for booking: HVO as a renewable alternative to diesel

Our solution is now live. The first energy source to be used in this context is HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil), a fuel based on hydrogenated vegetable oils. HVO is a renewable alternative to diesel that significantly reduces CO₂ emissions without the need to modify vehicles or infrastructure.
By using HVO, we have already been able to save a four-digit amount of CO₂ in recent months. HVO has been flexibly integrated into our fleet at several locations, forming the basis for the first claims that can now be booked via the system.

How to use Book & Claim

Getting started is easy and gives you the opportunity to improve your carbon footprint immediately. To secure flexible emission credits, simply get in touch with our team. We guide you through the entire process: First, we record the CO₂ savings from our own fleet, validate the calculated effects according to the given standards and provide you with the corresponding claims, including all evidence of emission savings.

For our customers, this means reliable data, easy integration into reporting and a validated improvement in their carbon footprint, without any changes to their day-to-day business. Customers benefit directly from actual savings and can offset these against their transport volume – a clear step towards more sustainable logistics and a credible climate strategy.

Looking ahead: e-mobility also bookable via Book & Claim from 2026

Electric semi-trailer trucks are an integral part of our fleet and actively contribute to more sustainable transport logistics. We have already put a number of new vehicles into operation throughout the year, and by the end of 2025 we will have almost tripled our electric truck fleet. Nagel-Group is thus continuing to invest specifically in electric mobility and is continuously expanding its fleet.

From 2026, the emission reductions of our electric trucks will also be bookable via Book & Claim. We are thus expanding the system to include another sustainable energy source and offering our customers new opportunities to actively, transparently and measurably improve their carbon footprint.
