Nagel-Group expands its frozen food network: Construction begins on new site in Groß Munzel
Groß Munzel, 19 August 2026 – Nagel-Group is strengthening its network for temperature-controlled food logistics and creating additional capacity in the deep-freeze sector. Construction of a new site has begun in Groß Munzel, near Hanover. A modern logistics facility is being built on a site covering approximately 40,280 square metres, with around 19,500 square metres of warehouse space and approximately 44,000 pallet spaces for the storage and handling of temperature-sensitive foodstuffs. The Nagel-Group will operate the site as a long-term tenant, thereby expanding its range of services in the multi-temperature sector. The client and project developer is BGAR BAU GmbH. Completion is scheduled for early 2028.

“Deep-freeze logistics places particular demands on the entire logistics chain. Temperature stability, reliable processes and energy-efficient operation play a central role in this. With the new site in Groß Munzel, we are creating an infrastructure that meets these requirements and effectively complements our network in the deep-freeze sector,” , explains André Pleines, Executive Director of Real Estate at the Nagel-Group.
This is also evident in the technical specifications of the new building. A photovoltaic system supports the site’s energy supply and helps to generate the required electricity directly on site. In addition, charging points for electric lorries and electric cars are being installed. Alongside the storage and handling areas, the new facility offers around 700 square metres of office and staff facilities.
With this new site, the Nagel-Group is strengthening its presence in the Hanover region and further expanding its capacity in temperature-controlled food logistics. The site in Groß Munzel also benefits from its convenient location in the immediate vicinity of the A2 motorway.
