New opportunities for apprentices and dual students at Nagel-Group
Starting in 2026, the Nagel-Group will offer two new opportunities for young talent looking to start a career in food logistics: The dual degree program in Business Administration and Logistics will launch under a new, standardized concept across Germany. At the same time, the Groß-Gerau branch will begin offering an apprenticeship in mechatronics for refrigeration technology for the first time.
Both programs demonstrate just how diverse a career in food logistics can be, ranging from business and logistics tasks to the technology behind modern refrigeration systems.
Dual degree program in business administration and logistics
Together with other students from the Nagel-Group, they’ll attend university, take part in exciting practical placements throughout Germany, and build a strong professional network. The dual study program is complemented by personalized one-on-one mentoring from top executives.
The program follows a clear structure: In the block model, theory and practical phases alternate on a quarterly basis, combined with a five-day workweek. This allows dual students to focus fully on their studies during the theory block and then fully immerse themselves in practical work again.
For 2026, 19 spots are available across Germany. Partner universities include the Berlin School of Economics and Law, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences (Lingen Campus), and the Baden-Württemberg Dual University in Mannheim and Heidenheim.
Apprenticeship as a Mechatronics Technician for Refrigeration Technology in Groß-Gerau
Tech-savvy young professionals can look forward to a new apprenticeship program in mechatronics for refrigeration technology starting in 2026 at the Groß-Gerau location. This is a career that offers responsibility, hands-on experience, and real prospects for the future. This initiative establishes a vocational training program that plays a central role in temperature-controlled food logistics.
The new apprenticeship program offers real added value: young professionals can develop an early enthusiasm for technology, be introduced to the systems step by step, and be specifically trained to become technical experts. Precisely because refrigeration technology is demanding and requires strong practical knowledge, training our own skilled workers is a key strategy. During the 3.5-year apprenticeship, the focus is on modern refrigeration and cooling systems directly in a real-world operational setting. The trainees are supported by experienced master technicians, instructors, and subject matter experts who pass on their expertise in a practical manner and introduce them to the tasks step by step.
The apprenticeship offers a solid technical qualification and opens up long-term development opportunities in a specialized and responsible field.
