DSLV Security Commission meets at Nagel-Group in Versmold

On 5 May, the Nagel-Group welcomed the “Logistics Security” Commission of the DSLV Federal Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics to its spring meeting at its headquarters in Versmold.

The Commission, which has been in existence for many years under the umbrella of the DSLV, brings together experts from various sectors of the logistics industry and provides an important platform for discussing current security challenges along the supply chain. The meeting focused in particular on the growing problem of so-called ‘fake carriers’. Together with representatives from the State Criminal Police Offices of Brandenburg, Lower Saxony and Hesse, as well as the Borken District Police Authority, there was an in-depth discussion on current fraud schemes, risk assessments and possible countermeasures.

The programme covered the future requirements of the insurance industry in this context, as well as insights from serie a logistics solutions into AI-supported methods for vetting transport partners and assessing risk.

Combating transport crime is becoming increasingly important for the entire logistics sector. For the Nagel-Group, regular dialogue with security authorities, industry partners and experts is therefore a key component in identifying current developments at an early stage and further developing preventive measures.

DSLV Security Commission meets at the Nagel-Group in Versmold“The demands placed on security and prevention measures are constantly rising. Close dialogue with authorities and industry partners helps us to better assess risks and derive concrete measures for practical application,” explains Thomas Pütter, Head of Partner, FTL & Customs at the Nagel-Group and also Chairman of the DSLV Commission.

The DSLV also emphasised the importance of cooperation: “The Commission thrives on open dialogue between industry, public authorities and experts with practical experience. It is precisely this dialogue that is crucial to effectively counter the increasing sophistication of transport crime,” said Niels Beuck, Deputy Managing Director of the DSLV.

In addition, current regulatory developments in the areas of air cargo security, NIS-2 and the KRITIS umbrella law were discussed, and there were updates on civil-military cooperation.

The event once again demonstrated how important close dialogue between industry, security authorities and other stakeholders is for developing effective measures against transport crime and protecting supply chains in the long term. The Commission thrives on the strong commitment of its members, speakers and partners and creates real added value for the entire industry.

Nagel-Group would like to thank all participants for the open dialogue, the valuable input and the trusting cooperation.
