Sustainability: Three more Nagel-Group sites are awarded ZNU certification

Versmold/Hamburg. 19. April 2022. Seven Nagel-Group sites have been recognised for their “sustainable management” according to the standard of the Centre for Sustainable Corporate Management (ZNU). The Bochum, Eschweiler and Langenfeld branches have now successfully passed the TÜV Rheinland certification body audits and had their certification renewed. All ZNU-certified Nagel-Group sites have also been powered by green electricity since the beginning of the year.

In 2017, Nagel-Group became the first logistics company to be awarded the ZNU standard. The Centre for Sustainable Corporate Management is an applications-focused research institute at the University of Witten/Herdecke. The Versmold, Borgholzhausen, Bad Grönenbach and Buxheim branches have already been certified by ZNU.

To achieve certification, specified, measurable standards in the environmental, economic and social areas must be met. Further sites are expected to achieve ZNU standard certification and converted to green power in the next few years. “We are investing in specific measures that make our processes more sustainable. In doing so, we are reducing CO2 emissions generated by our work for our customers and are also taking into account social and economic aspects of sustainability,” says Dr Holger Werthschulte, Chief Financial Officer of Nagel-Group.

“We have always thought sustainably as a logistics provider in any case; after all, our core business is to create synergies, for example through transport bundling. We remain conscious of our responsibility to do more though, and we aim to be structured and focused in doing this,” adds Werthschulte.
