Nagel-Group opens new logistics center in Gotha/Emleben
The Nagel-Group has taken over its new logistics center in Gotha/Emleben, Thuringia. With around 21,000 m² of state-of-the-art logistics space, the company is expanding its network in central Germany and strengthening its capabilities in temperature-controlled food logistics. Operations will start on October 1, 2025.
The property was built by OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH and meets the highest sustainability standards. DGNB Gold certification and EU taxonomy-compliant construction are planned. The energy concept includes air-to-water heat pumps and a photovoltaic system covering around 8,800 m², which saves up to 870 tons of CO₂ annually.
Ralph Holeschovsky, branch manager of OFB in Erfurt, explains: “With the handover to the Nagel-Group, we are completing a project that ideally combines sustainability, functionality, and economic efficiency. We are proud to be able to make a further contribution to strengthening Gotha/Emleben as a logistics location.”

André Pleines, Executive Director Real Estate at the Nagel-Group, adds: “The new logistics center provides us with state-of-the-art storage and handling facilities for temperature-sensitive food. The sustainable construction and innovative technology not only ensure efficient processes, but also contribute to climate protection in the region.”
The new building will not only create additional jobs in the region, but also provide a modern infrastructure for efficient logistics processes. The direct connection to the A4 motorway and the location in the Thuringia logistics cluster offer ideal conditions for this. The Nagel-Group is thus further expanding its presence in the Gotha district and is now represented there with three branches.
