Sustainability is our driving force

The challenges of our time are complex: climate change, resource scarcity and social inequality require decisive action. As one of Europe’s leading food logistics companies, we take responsibility and actively shape a sustainable future.

Through responsible action, the use of environmentally friendly technologies and the consistent promotion of ecological efficiency, we are doing our part to ensure that tomorrow’s world remains worth living in.

For us, sustainability means taking responsibility for our employees, our environment and our society.

The United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals

Our sustainability goals are based on the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals and focus on six SDGs. The Sustainable Development Goals serve as guidelines for our activities, enabling us to consider and further develop sustainability from a social, economic and environmental perspective.

Our sustainability goals

Knowledge (SDG 4)

For us, well-trained and qualified employees are the key to success. That is why we aim to prepare each employee optimally for their job by means of learning and development programmes, to equip them with the necessary knowledge at all times and thus to enable them optimally for their task. Therefore, we focus on the optimal training and empowerment of our employees.

Digitalization (SDG 7 & 8 & 17)

Through the targeted implementation of digital tools, processes and platforms, we maximise resource efficiency and set a sustainable example for the future.

Health & Safety (SDG 4 & 8)

We provide our employees with a healthy and safe working environment. Therefore, we are reducing the thousand-man-quota (TMQ) by at least one point per year until 2030.

Procurement (SDG 7 & 13 & 17)

In the procurement process, we not only consider economic, technical and process-related criteria. This means that sustainability is an equally important decision-making feature in the procurement process for all indirect goods and services.

CO2 Real Estate (SDG 7 & 12)

We are reducing CO2 emissions from our real estate by 40% by 2030. Furthermore, we will achieve complete greenhouse neutrality by 2045.

CO2 transport (SDG 7 & 13)

We are reducing our transport-related CO2 emissions by 40% by 2030. Furthermore, we will achieve complete greenhouse neutrality by 2045.

Partnerships (SDG 17)

Nagel-Group is a reliable partner with integrity for its stakeholders, which is the basis for long-term, successful and sustainable partnerships. Our slogan “Connecting the world of food” underlines our connecting function in supply chains and enables the necessary transformation (e.g. through exchange of knowledge, expertise, technology) towards a shared more sustainable future. Thus, we are open for joint sustainability projects with customers and service providers.
