Nagel-Group supports international SOS-Kinderdorf projects with €50.000

Hamburg/Versmold, 18 December 2025. The Nagel-Group is once again sending a strong signal of social responsibility: with a Christmas donation of €50,000, the family-owned company is supporting the aid projects of SOS-Kinderdorf e. V. for the twelfth time.

As part of this year’s Christmas campaign, customers, employees and followers of the Nagel-Group’s social media channels were able to vote on how the donation amount would be distributed. Almost 31,000 votes ultimately decided on the funding of four international projects in Germany, Poland, Czechia and Hungary.

‘For us, the Christmas donation is much more than a tradition; it is an expression of our understanding of responsibility and solidarity. In 2025, we will celebrate our 90th anniversary. We are consciously linking this special year with a clear commitment to social engagement,’ explains Marion Nagel, Chairwoman of the Nagel-Group’s Board of Directors.

The roots of this commitment date back to 2010, when the Nagel-Group raised €75,000 for earthquake relief in Haiti on the occasion of its 75th anniversary. The Christmas donation campaign has been held annually since 2013. To date, almost €600,000 has been raised in this way. Direct aid that goes where it is most urgently needed.

‘We are extremely grateful for the Nagel-Group’s decades of support. Every year, the company demonstrates what sustainable social commitment can look like,’ says Tanja Plath, Corporate Fundraising Management SOS-Kinderdorf e. V.

Overview of the funded projects

1st place – Grant amount: €20.000

Poland: Healthy meals for children

Around 1,000 children are cared for in the SOS family programmes in Poland. They receive support with their education, psychological counselling and help to build their self-confidence. For many children, the daily hot meal they receive there is the only one they get all day, and donations ensure that this essential service can continue in the long term.

2nd place – Grant amount: €15.000

Hungary: Mobile family support for disadvantaged families

The mobile family support service of SOS-Kinderdorf Hungary helps families in the poorest regions of the country. Home visits, parent-child groups and training courses are designed to prevent children from being taken into state care and to reunite families. The donation directly supports this important service on the ground.

3rd place – Grant amount: €10.000

Germany: SOS family centre Sossenheim – Education and support for families

People of all generations and cultures come together at the SOS family centre in Sossenheim. Families can get advice, chat and take part in educational activities such as the family café, playroom and leisure activities. The educational lunch with homework supervision for primary school children is particularly important, with around 500 adults and 250 children taking part each year. The donation will enable this service to continue and be expanded.

4th place – Grant amount: €5.000 Euro

Czechia: New, lovingly designed children’s rooms at the SOS crisis centre Sluníčko

The crisis centre in Karlsbad provides refuge for children who have suddenly been taken away from their families. Many are traumatised and unsettled. The donation will enable the creation of six new children’s rooms with furniture, carpets, lighting and details that create a sense of security and restore trust.
