E-commerce brunch at B+S Logistik – exchange, insights and inspiration in Hammersbach

 

Last Thursday, 6 November 2025, B+S Logistics and Services invited around 50 guests – a mix of brands, manufacturers and partners – to the first e-commerce brunch at its modern logistics site in Hammersbach. Under the motto ‘Multichannel logistics for food & more – successful together on online marketplaces’, the brunch focused on developments, opportunities and challenges in online and multichannel retail, with a particular focus on the food and near-food industry. A compact meeting place for experts and decision-makers from the FMCG environment who want to exchange ideas about current trends and best practices in an exclusive setting.

Julia Hitschler, Head of Digital & E-Commerce at hitschies

After a welcome address by Clemens von Ketteler, Managing Director, and Thomas Finke, Head of E-Commerce, Julia Hitschler, Head of Digital & E-Commerce at hitschies, gave an inspiring keynote speech on the transformation of the traditional confectionery company into a digital candy brand. Her central message summed it up perfectly:

‘A brand can go viral on social media – but true success stands and falls with good logistics.’

Another highlight of the day was the panel discussion on ‘Success factors in European multichannel business.’ Industry representatives, including those from Fressnapf and Kaufland, engaged in lively discussions on topics such as customer expectations, entry and success factors, process optimisation, and the role of data-driven decisions. The mix of different perspectives made the exchange particularly valuable and showed how diverse the paths to successful multichannel business can be.

In between, the brunch offered numerous opportunities for networking and shop talk, as well as a look behind the scenes of B+S Multichannel Logistics. A warehouse tour and open exchange gave rise to practical ideas, new perspectives and smart solutions for the e-commerce world of tomorrow.

Conclusion: The E-Commerce Brunch not only offered exciting insights into logistics practice, but also provided a valuable venue for encounters, inspiration and exchange. In future, the event format will alternate with the well-known E-Commerce BBQ.
