Pioneer: Kurt Nagel sen.
(1909-1992)

Born in 1909 in Recklinghausen, Kurt Nagel, with his brother Rudolf, founded the haulage company "Gebr. Nagel" on 22 May 1935 in Versmold, Westphalia. Gebr. Nagel quickly found their first customers, but then the Second World War interrupted the further growth of the company. However, during the post-war economic miracle, Kurt Nagel managed steadily to build up the haulage company, which he continued to run as the sole proprietor from 1952. In 1956 he renamed his company "Kraftverkehr Nagel".

Over the next three decades Kurt Nagel worked consistently to develop a network of branches in the Federal Republic of Germany. During this period, "Kraftverkehr Nagel" became specialized in the shipment of temperature-controlled foodstuffs. The company grew until, in the 80s, it became the national market leader in temperature-controlled logistics.

With his tireless commitment, consistent investment in the vehicle fleet and business foresight, Kurt Nagel made his mark on his company. Kurt Nagel died in 1992 at the age of 82 after an eventful life characterized by business foresight and the courage to follow new paths.
