Hamburg/Kabelsketal. Gläserne Molkerei GmbH has selected Nagel-Group as its long-term logistics partner. Since July 2021, Nagel-Group has been responsible for the nationwide distribution of Gläserne Molkerei products from the Dechow plant in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and an external production site in Saxony-Anhalt. Before distribution, Nagel-Group stores the goods in its Hamburg or Kabelsketal branches.
Gläserne Molkerei GmbH is an organic-only dairy. All of the milk, butter, naturally matured cheese, and other dairy products it produces – yoghurt, for example – is made from regionally sourced organic milk. Gläserne Molkerei GmbH was looking for a partner that would bring to the table a sustainable logistics solution. ZNU-certified Nagel-Group fulfilled the strict requirements, notably because of its concept to reduce CO2 emissions. The concept has recently earned Germany’s largest food logistics company the Lean & Green Star award. Dirk Otto, Head of Vertical Cross Sector at Nagel-Group, who is responsible for the Gläserne Molkerei GmbH account, explains: “Our efforts to make logistics more sustainable and our strong network are a key building block for our partnership with Gläserne Molkerei GmbH.”
Gläserne Molkerei GmbH has adopted a sustainable approach across the entire value chain. “In addition to implementing energy and packaging management measures, we also set ourselves ambitious targets in the logistics process,” explains Markus Hedderich, Head of Operations & Supply Chain, Gläserne Molkerei GmbH. “Nagel-Group’s dense distribution network allows us to optimise the movement of goods and thus deliver them in a cost- and energy-efficient manner, even when we are faced with seasonal fluctuations.”
