HGV Driver in Training
Training to be an HGV Driver
Having his own secure job and being his own boss - that’s the reason why Jan G. decided to start training as an HGV driver. Before he could set off driving on his own, however, he had to be over 21 and pass his European driving test. He was able to use this time in a sensible way at Nagel-Group.
“In the beginning of my apprenticeship I got to know other areas, which were relevant to my career at a later stage: bodywork, the paint shop, the mechanics’ workshop, the lorry wash and I was also able to look over the shoulders of the forwarding agents in the office. I learned a lot in those days and was able to get to know my colleagues in the different departments. . A short time ago I passed my HGV test and now I will be gradually integrated into the team. For the time being, I am putting the lorries in the correct place in the yard. Soon I will start in the shuttle service, regular service and long-distance transport. In the beginning I will always have an experienced driver with me. And soon afterwards I will take over the job with full responsibility. I can’t imagine a better way to prepare for the job.”
